Ana 's bio and track record
Dr Ana Gonzalez-Pelaez heads the regulatory section of WINnERS, focusing on how the insurance facilities and related regulatory environment support the human rights of smallholders in alignment with businesses’ interests.
Ana’s work specialises on the political economy of basic rights within the global financial system. She is the lead author of the report "Insurance Regulation for Sustainable Development: Protecting Human Rights against Climate Risk and Natural Hazards” (CISL 2015), launched at the UN Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa as part of the policy recommendations for the post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda.
Ana’s publications include the books Human Rights and World Trade: Hunger in International Society (Routledge) and International Society and the Middle East, co-authored (Palgrave McMillan). She has advised on human rights and trade reform in the Middle East and worked for Bloomberg Television as an editor, producer and news anchor.
